Materials Informatics is an effort to increase the efficiency of material development through the use of informatics (information science) method such as statistical analysis.

In recent years, applications to the field of materials have spread as digitization has made it possible to manipulate vast amounts of data with supercomputers and other high-performance information processing equipment, such as analysing experiments and papers to predict the molecular structure and manufacturing methods of materials.
